Over my years working for the Association, conversations with our members indicate that plant tours have provided so much value to them, and that they are an important tool that has helped them improve their own operations. Reflecting back long ago to my early years in the business I recall my first experience with plant tours and how I returned from the trip full of ideas and plans to better my operation. I have found that ever since that trip that every time I go through a different facility, there is something new that I notice, or a new idea that I take away. Sometimes these takeaways are as large as a whole manufacturing process, but most times these takeaways are in the subtleties and could be as simple as how a workstation is oriented to maximize flow. I hear those same sentiments echoed from many others.
This year, we have a unique opportunity to play co-host to the Fall Plant Tours with the NWPCA and not only showcase the city of Toronto, but also four excellent facilities, each offering an opportunity to see a different aspect of our dynamic industry. We are very excited to feature Topax Protektive Packaging, Pallet Management Group, Weston Forest Products, and Woodbridge Pallet for this event. While touring these facilities and their distinct daily operations, delegates will have an opportunity to witness:
I can assure you that regardless of your core business, there will be a take away from these tours that will make your participation in the event worthwhile.
As the summer progresses, I am sure that, like myself, many of you have a hard time thinking ahead to the fall and are hoping that time stands still for a bit as you try to find time to enjoy what seems to be the fastest moving summer in history! Unfortunately, however, time will continue to pass and before we know it, the fall will be upon us. Fortunately, so too will be the Fall Plant Tours.
Registration is off to a fast start, and with the early bird deadline approaching at the end of July, more people are confirming their attendance by the day. Our exhibit hall is now almost sold out, and our tour hosts are busy preparing their facilities to welcome delegates from across North America.
We want to ensure that as space for this event is limited, that our CWPCA members take advantage of this opportunity and register now. Don’t miss out on the chance to see how your industry peers tackle their day to day operational needs and network with industry representatives from across North America.
Please contact the office should you have any questions about this event or how to go about registering.
