Turkey imposes new phytosanitary import requirements for ash, birch and coniferous wood. The changes will come into force January 1st, 2016.
Turkey has recently announced changes to its phytosanitary import requirements for ash, birch and coniferous wood to align with the European Union. As of January 1st, 2016 all wood products of these species will be need to be certified according to the new requirements. Exporters planning to export forest products to this country are encouraged to contact their local CFIA office as soon as possible in order to clarify the requirements for the type of product they wish to export . Commodities affected include: Ash, birch and coniferous wood including, logs, lumber and wood and bark chips.
